Meadowview is lucky to have land, and lots of it. Nearly 400 acres of open space right in the center of the community.
But after years of traditional management, the meadow is suffering. Disking for weed abatement nearly has wiped out the rare burrowing owls. Trails are eroding, non-native plants have moved in. The soil is blowing away.
Residents decided to take a different approach:
- Graze instead of disc;
- Seed with bunch grass;
- Restores soil vitality.
Come learn about this community's attempt to save their meadow.
It was a great meeting. The speakers were knowledgeable about the issues. The meeting was well attended. Great job Teri.
